Pada dasarnya, injection molding adalah proses memasukkan plastik leleh ke dalam cavity sebuah mold. Setelah plastik mendingin, bagian tersebut dapat dikeluarkan. Ini berguna ketika  produk atau suku cadang terlalu rumit atau mahal untuk mesin.
