Acrylic plastic represents a family of petroleum-based thermoplastics made from the derivation of natural gas. Sometimes referred to as "polyacrylate," acrylic can be made from Methyl Methacrylate,  Poly Methyl Methacrylate “PMMA”, or a combination of both.
